Souper Bowl Sunday!
SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY 2023 IS COMING ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12 THIS YEAR! Once again, our church is teaming up with IOCC in our annual Souper Bowl of Caring. St. Nicholas Church is rallying her congregation to champion International Orthodox Christian Charities’ ministry by caring for those in need around the world. Faithful members are implored to bring a nonperishable food item or two and a small monetary contribution to the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, February 12 on the Sunday of the Prodigal Son and Feast Day of the Three Hierarchs: Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian and John Chrysostom. Canned goods and food supplies can be placed in the stage area of the parish hall. All non-perishable items will be collected until Feb. 24th and received by the Rainbow Kitchen, here in Homestead on ninth avenue. Church School children will be standing at the church exits on Feb. 12th holding small soup pots to receive the monetary donations. Be generous with your contributions on that Lord’s Day in order for St. Nicholas Orthodox Church to become SOUPER BOWL OF CARING CHAMPIONS this year!
